Hello
My name is Jenny Lee 李卉婷, I was born near to the equator in a beautiful tropical country Malaysia. My Chinese ancestors migrated here three generations ago, so I am ethnically Chinese, culturally Malaysian.
I am an evolutionary biologist. In other words, I study evolution in the DNA. The science world has always been my love since I was young. My favourite book was the one with dinosaurs and all the extinct animals. I did experiments with ants and worms in the garden. I did my PhD in University of Queensland, Australia, and did two post-doc positions in Germany and Taiwan. As a result, I spent like 10 years away from Malaysia, now I am back to try my hands on the research space here!
Now to the spiritual side. I experienced an identity crisis when I was in Germany around the time where the world was plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic. I have always been interested in tarot and astrology, and had dabbled in them. Yet, the identity crisis opened up a whole new understanding in me about consciousness. That was when I realized things like tarot and astrology are just tools, tools for self awareness, not fortune-telling. That was also when I saw how many layers of emotions I had been suppressing. I took a really deep dive into topics such as childhood trauma, subconscious, limiting beliefs, resistance and others. This is how I started my healing journey.
I started to offer tarot readings as a service in 2021. Very soon, I found that tarot readings are not enough in helping people in making substantial changes in their lives. I saw the need to tell people about what I learned about inner work. I started a series of Shadow Work Workshop in 2022. I also started to offer one-to-one inner work sessions.
You might notice that I have been introducing to you two sides of me. A scientist side and a healer side. Well, these two roles have not integrated with each other! There had been times where I was so occupied in my scientist job that I took long pauses for the healer work. Now I’ve come to a balance point where I work on accommodating for both in my career. Let’s see how it pans out 😉
As a person who am I? I will tell you what I like.
I love to spend time in two types of nature, 1) any bodies of water such as ocean, lake, stream, etc. 2) where there are grass that I can lie down on, trees that make dancing patterns of light and birds singing. I love reading, such as crime fiction and biographies. I also love good movies, especially dark comedies. I love making art, particularly watercolour and sketch. I love good food. I love a wide genre of music. I love to explore new places on my own. My brain is constantly running, so I like to ground in body work like yoga and dance. I love to see and feel the sun. I love all animals and plants, I think they are the coolest treasures on earth.
Nice to meet you!
